As a survivor of not only a rare cancer, but also kidney disease and debilitating vertigo, her story is a true message of hope for us all. Along the way, Meredith’s faith was tested and then shaped into a beautiful friendship with God.
Meredith McNerney is the founder and Executive Director of A Message of Hope Cancer Fund, Inc. With the support of her family and friends, Meredith formed the non-profit in an effort to provide direct financial assistance to families who face the monetary burdens associated with cancer. Their organization offers assistance to families in Maryland, DC, and Virginia. They often cover the hidden costs of cancer such as: copays, prescription drugs, loss of income while away from work, utilities, rent and mortgage. Mrs. McNerney and her team have raised over $150,000 since their inception in 2008. A Message of Hope Cancer Fund is run entirely with the support of volunteers and donors. Nearly 96% of money raised goes directly to the families they serve. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of Meredith's book will go to A Message of Hope Cancer Fund.
